A small example
For CSV with a header row `name, city` and a record `Cosmo,Munich`, an object-style result is [{"name":"Cosmo","city":"Munich"}]. A quoted value such as `"Munich, Germany"` remains one field. Read the JSON preview before using it in a program.

Use the converter below. Its parser handles quoted CSV fields and optional headers. The conversion runs in this browser tab.
Paste CSV data or select a local CSV file.
Choose the header setting that matches your first row.
Convert, inspect the JSON structure, then copy or download it.
Check data types and shape
CSV has no universal type schema. Values such as 00123, dates, and TRUE may need explicit handling in the program that consumes the JSON. Verify repeated or empty header names, irregular rows, delimiters, and encoding with a representative sample before converting a large dataset. Do not assume a successful parse means the semantics are correct.
