Keep the original shape
Aspect ratio is the relationship between width and height. A 1200 × 800 image has a 3:2 ratio; at 600 pixels wide, its proportional height is 400 pixels. Changing both values independently to 600 × 600 would stretch or squeeze the picture unless you crop it first.
Open resize imageResize with the tool
Use the resizer below. Choose a supported JPG, PNG, or WebP file and keep the aspect-ratio option enabled if the shape should stay the same.
Select the image and check its starting dimensions.
Set the desired width or height with aspect ratio preserved.
Preview the result and download the resized copy.
Size, sharpness, and format
Reducing pixel dimensions removes detail, so retain the original if you may need a larger version later. Enlarging a small image cannot recreate detail that was not present. JPEG can be useful for photographs, while PNG preserves transparency and crisp flat-color artwork. Browser canvas and memory limits can affect very large images.

Questions
Does resizing reduce file size?
Often, but output format and quality also affect bytes. Use the image compressor when file size is the main goal.
